Infrastructure

The Infrastructure team provides and operates the underlying computing environment on which the organization’s technology runs. It manages core resources such as networks, servers, hosting environments, connectivity, and foundational operating services. The team keeps those resources available, monitored, recoverable, and appropriately protected. It establishes standard ways to provision and maintain environments so that delivery work can proceed consistently. The team responds to outages and investigates conditions that threaten reliability or capacity. It plans for growth, resilience, maintenance, and the safe introduction of new technical capabilities. Much of its work is designed to be invisible when it is working well. It creates dependable foundations that allow other teams to focus on their own products and services. The team must balance standardization with the different operational needs of the organization. Its success is reflected in stable services, predictable environments, and fewer interruptions to the flow of valuable work.
